1 min read

JOYS caught up at their practice space to put together an inconspicuous new offering called “Minnesota”, a forerunner of their upcoming full length record, due out in October. The new jam sounds like a solid leap, both lyrically, and musically, and it teases an undoubtedly ambitious album. These guys will be going down to King Sound Studio in Kentucky to record the album in July and mixing it DIY back at thjeir home studio dubbed Everything Orange. Joining them during the production process will be Rick King, who has produced bands like DAISYHEAD, NORTHBOUND, FOREVERATLAST, and HIT THE LIGHTS. After the album releases JOYS will be focusing on playing the Midwest DIY scene and hitting up a few festivals similar to Bled Fest, which they will be performing at on May 27th! Check out the captivating new tune below and stay tuned as we will be announcing more news for JOYS soon!

The band commented:

We wanted to release this song as soon as we wrote it because we felt so strongly about it. And to stay relevant since our last October Bad Year EP release [listen below]. Which was done by Rick Johnson (Mustard Plug, Cheap Girls, The Lippies).

We recorded, mixed, mastered and posted Minnesota over a weekend. And it felt great to put it out so fast and skip all the hype. And we’re a bit overwhelmed by the responses to it so far. It’s definitely been a Joyful experience.
