The rather generic subgenre of djent metalcore isn’t exactly the most booming label here on IDIOTEQ, but we’re very open for all kinds of efforts and this Serbian act is worth some of your time. Belgrade’s SIDES have debuted a new music video for their song called “Voices”, showing some serious influence of NORTHLANE and their love for djent tones. Much respect for the band’s efforts, it surely hits a bunch of young kids hard, but it somehow feels that it needed a bit longer in the incubator. This particular subgenre started running out of new ideas a long time ago. Anyways, here it is – taste it and tell us what you think in the comments below.
Lyrics:
I know I know the truth
Hold me into youI am subconsciousness
I am a bliss of the dying world
I am what you can’t see
You need to stop and believe me cause I am hereI know the truth
so let me dream in your mind, dreams you call your ownI know what I’ve become
Let me dream awake
and open your heart, embrace the universe
Cast away the fear
I’m clearing my view of realityLet us embrace, reaching out to me, hold me closer, unfreze your memory
Let me show you things that you can’t find
Melt your preconception, opening your mindI see with the clearest sight
I see the world is changing right before my eyes
Can’t you see this
We are freeI’m never coming back
I know what I’ve become
Can’t you see this
It’s time for us to go
I’m never coming back homeI know I know the truth
Hold me
I will believe in youI won’t let you down
I refuse to let you goI’m a freethinker and I refuse
Infinite reflection of reality is frozen in the time
Infinite reflection of reality is frozen in your mind
