TREASURE PAINS drop “Blowout”, ahead of debut EP release on Wiretap Records

1 min read

Durham, NC post-hardcore band TREASURE PAINS has signed with LA indie label Wiretap Records for the release of their debut EP Charming, due later this fall. The band has dropped their second single, “Blowout,” available on all streaming platforms as of Friday, September 27.

TREASURE PAINS features members of fellow North Carolina bands WOLVESxWOLVESxWOLVESxWOLVES and YOUTH LEAGUE.

Blowout” emerged from a riff during a writing session, with lyrics inspired by a fever-induced sensory experience, according to vocalist Jessi Knop.

“‘Blowout’ started with a riff idea I thought would fit well with what Zach and I were writing. The lyrics came to me when I was sick with a high fever. It felt like any noises I’d hear sort of appeared as a flash in my vision, even though it was actually a sound. Made me think of my inner wiring malfunction.” – Jessi Knop

TREASURE PAINS, formed by Jessi and Zach (YOUTH LEAGUE), later expanded to include Kellette and Kyle (WOLVESx4). Their post-hardcore sound blends melancholic aggression with some serious energy. Fans of MEAT WAVE, FIDDLEHEAD, HOT SNAKES, and DRUG CHURCH will find familiar elements in their music.
