OVERSIZE breaks through with “Fall Apart” and lands a spot on SharpTone Records

1 min read

OVERSIZE just signed with SharpTone Records and dropped their new single “Fall Apart.”

Discovered by IDIOTEQ in 2020, the UK alt-shoegaze outfit has made waves in the scene, pulling in attention from major voices like Dan P Carter, Alyx Holcombe, and Jack Saunders at BBC R1. The band, although still fresh, is already carving out a spot for themselves with performances at Outbreak Festival and shows alongside bands like Militarie Gun, Higher Power, Fiddlehead, and Boston Manor.

“Fall Apart” hits with a blend of post-hardcore, alternative metal, shoegaze, and emo, creating a sonic landscape that feels raw but meticulously put together. The band draws influence from the ’90s without feeling retro or stuck in the past — HUM, Smashing Pumpkins, Deftones, and Pixies are all part of their DNA, but OVERSIZE is fully focused on forward motion.

Vocalist Sam McCauley digs deep on “Fall Apart,” explaining how the song explores grief and heartbreak — the cold disconnect, the numbness, and that paradoxical craving for connection while pushing everyone away. The way the track moves between atmospheric moments and crushing, fuzzy riffs reflects that emotional push-pull perfectly.

Guitarist Lewis Lennane-Emm also weighed in on their SharpTone signing, calling it “an absolute honor” to join a label that nurtures creative growth and supports some of the best alternative artists out there today.

The band lineup includes Sam Shutler on drums, Sam McCauley on vocals, George Lewis on bass, Tazz Edwards on guitar, and Lewis Lennane-Emm on guitar. The chemistry within the group is palpable, and it’s clear they’re just getting started.

OVERSIZE is already making their mark. Expect more soon.
