WARGASM has dropped a fierce two-song combo just as they charge through the tail end of their Club Shit tour, delivering “Circle Pit” and “Bad Seed” in back-to-back chaos.
Sam Matlock and Milkie Way, the incendiary duo behind WARGASM, continue to blaze a trail of irreverent violence, breaking from the monotony of traditional metal. Both songs debuted last night, capturing entirely different vibes, yet unified by their aggression and biting commentary.
The first of the two, “Circle Pit,” comes out swinging with a cheeky, irreverent opening riff, setting the tone for what’s about to come. As the track launches, you get a sense of playful nihilism, with Sam and Milkie standing like modern outlaws, bathed in golden-hour light on an abandoned road.
Milkie’s ‘underwear as outerwear’ look, complete with a jacket and neckerchief, gives off a mischievous Milkybar kid vibe, while Sam rocks a star jumper and heart-shaped glasses, proving once again that WARGASM is not here to conform to metal’s often rigid image. This whole scene breaks metal’s obsession with taking itself too seriously.
Sam’s roar, “BREAK OUT THE BOOZE I GOT SOME BAD NEWS,” kicks off a fiery chorus as the two are surrounded by bikers, and it’s pure chaos. This is an anthem for a generation burned out by the same old cycles, a sentiment underlined by the line: “It doesn’t get better, at least we’re all in this together.”
The track throws its listeners straight into the mosh pit, daring them to break out of the cycle, or, if they can’t, at least enjoy the ride. “Why play the game when we could be running in the circle pit,” they scream. The Americana-inspired video, filled with nods to Pulp Fiction and The Warriors, echoes the band’s cynical, yet playful, view of the world. The energy is raw, relentless, and filled with a sense of shared defiance. A standout moment comes with Milkie singing in Japanese, bringing an extra layer of edge. It’s a highlight that leaves you wanting more.
But if “Circle Pit” gives us Pulp Fiction, “Bad Seed” throws us into the desolate terror of The Hills Have Eyes.
The duo, caked in chalky white makeup, stand against a stark red-and-white landscape that feels eerily alien. There’s no mistaking the menace in this track from the get-go: “You took a swing and missed, now you deserve this.” The song is a full-on threat, carrying that signature WARGASM sound with abrupt tempo shifts and a creeping sense of unease. Bass-heavy chugs intertwine with rapid tremolo guitar parts, building suspense as Sam and Milkie tear through the track. The visuals complement the sound perfectly, with distorted fisheye lens close-ups adding an extra layer of uncanniness. One especially intense scene has Sam crawling through red-lit caves, almost creature-like, towards the camera—reminiscent of a nightmare straight out of The Descent.
There’s no mercy here. The song ends with a chilling line: “Use a scalpel to start but a buzzsaw to finish.” It’s brutal, and there’s no backing down, reinforcing the message that WARGASM is coming for their enemies, guns blazing.
Both tracks highlight the duo’s ability to shift moods, mixing playful rebellion with raw, violent anger. And following their recent collaborations with heavyweights like Corey Taylor (Slipknot), Fred Durst (Limp Bizkit), and Ho99o9, these new singles are a testament to their rapid rise in the alternative scene. Fans got a taste of what’s to come with their summer release “70% Dead,” but “Circle Pit” and “Bad Seed” suggest that WARGASM’s next album could be their most explosive yet.
As they prep for their Club Shit tour, kicking off on October 20th in St. Albans and snaking through intimate venues across the UK in November, fans are surely in for a wild ride. Their statement rings clear: “The world is apathetic and lonely, and music is our coping mechanism. Anger is our energy.”
The UK tour kicks off on October 20 in St Albans, and if these new tracks are any indication, fans can expect nothing short of chaos.
