Pop punk rockers BONY MACARONI drop “Death Drive”, announce Dutch Club Tour

1 min read

Today, Dutch emo/pop punk outfit Bony Macaroni released the title track from their upcoming sophomore album, Death Drive, paired with a music video that’s as restless as the song itself (watch above). Alongside the single, the band announced a headline club tour across The Netherlands, kicking off later this year.

The full album, set for release on August 29, 2025, via Germany’s Redfield Records, marks their next step after 2021’s debut, The Big Bucks.

The new single, available to stream now, leans harder into a manic energy than their earlier work. “I live and think in absolutes. The vibes are bad, the drugs are good,” sings vocalist Stefan, setting the tone for a record that doesn’t pull punches. He describes Death Drive as a deliberate shift: “I wanted to write an album with no arc. Unlike our first record, there’s no big, hopeful climax. This is a snapshot of being in your 20s in the 2020s—a time period defined by what feels like a collective death drive.” It’s raw, unfiltered, and doesn’t pretend things get better by the end.
Produced by American Billy Manino, who’s worked with Macseal and Oso Oso, Death Drive nudges the band’s sound toward indie territory while keeping their emo roots intact.

The single lands punchy pop-punk riffs alongside lyrics that smirk at the mess of modern life, even if it stings.

Their debut, The Big Bucks, turned heads with its coming-of-age take on economic dread, but Death Drive feels less like a story and more like a middle finger to resolution.

Singles will roll out over the next few months: “Bubble Boy” on April 25, “Dumb (So Stupid)” on June 6, “The Ends of the Earth” on July 18, and the album’s focus track, “The Rotting 20s,” dropping with the full release.
