Recorded in just three days amid the worst of the pandemic, Cemënteri’s second album, Panorama en llamas, confronts a world in crisis with an unyielding, stripped-down intensity. The band—Carlos Arcos, Joan Lorenzo, and brothers Alejandro and Guillermo Cebrián (of El eje del mäl)—has shifted from a project born purely for fun into a machine for sharp, incisive songwriting, marked by punchy rhythms and brutally honest lyrics.
Following their 2020 debut, Asma, corte, afonía y pisotón, and a split with Santo Rostro in 2021, the group channels its evolution into a record that wrestles with today’s geopolitical unrest and the ecological fallout of turbo-capitalism.
Today, Cemënteri premieres the video for “Amigo colapso” exclusively through IDIOTEQ. Directed by Gus Forner using modified VHS cameras, the clip mirrors the record’s uncompromising vision—a raw, powerful reflection on the devastation defining our times.
Panorama en llamas stands as a major work of rock—a punk artefact of dosed articulation, whose insightfulness and twisted literality weave a coherent narrative of devastation and desolation. As the title implies, it sketches a panorama with flames at our knees.
Production details reinforce the record’s immediacy and authenticity. Music is credited to Alejandro Cebrián, Guillermo Cebrián, Carlos Arcos, and Joan Lorenzo, with Marco Velasco (El Mirador) contributing keys and guitar on “Dennis Rodman”, “Vietnam me mata”, “Venimos de la nada”, and “Constelaciones”, plus keys on “Pasando a la historia (por las razones equivocadas)”. Alex Painter’s sax on “Otro ataque” punctuates the record’s raw edges. Recording was handled by Marcos Velasco (El Mirador, Alhama) and José Antonio López Rubio (Portaestudio cúbico E3, Alicante), mixed by Santi García (Ultramarinos, Sant Feliu de Guíxols) and mastered by Martín Ballesta (Last Punch, Alicante). Hugo Alonso’s artwork seals the album’s confrontational aesthetic.
Panorama en llamas will be available on vinyl (12″, EAN: 8495390853787) and digital formats on February 21, 2025, via Spanish label Repetidor (Reference: R164).
