In spite of last month’s reports, AT THE GATES guitarist Anders Björler recently told Andrew Haug — the former host of Triple J Australia’s “The Racket” radio show (originally “Full Metal Racket”; 2001-2011) — that he has no interest in recording a new album with them.
He expalins:
I’ve never had those plans. I guess some of the other guys want to, but certainly not me. Because I think too much time has passed. It was, maybe, 16 years ago, or 17, since we released “Slaughter of the Soul”, and too much time has passed. I’m not at the place that I was back then, and it’s not gonna sound like a continuation of “Slaughter of the Soul”, and that’s basically what I don’t wanna do.
AT THE GATES, who have been playing shows or touring sporadically since their 2007 reunion, released their last studio album, “Slaughter of the Soul“, back in 1995.
