Aronofsky’s classic thriller ‘Pi’ receives a new thrilling soundtrack with NO OMEGA’s ‘Autoimmune’

1 min read

NO OMEGA‘s third full-length album ‘Culture‘ (Dog Knights Productions, Evil Greed) was definitely one of the greatest examples of crushing, apocalyptic, metallic hardcore that’s hs everything to confront modern days’ uncertainty and chaos, to great effect. Today, the band gives us their newest music video for the album’s ‘Autoimmune’, which serves as a fine tribute to Darren Aronofsky and his epic movie ‘Pi’ (1998, see the trailer below).  Edited by Oscar Brodin, the video can be seen above.

“I really needed a creative outlet and after realising how well scenes from Darren Aronofsky’s film ‘Pi’ from 1998 translated the lyrics of Autoimmune into video – thematically and aesthetically… how well it worked together, I felt I just had to make it into a video. Darren Aronofsky has made so many amazing films. So as well as hoping that he won’t mind that I borrowed his material for the video, I consider this a tribute to him and the film. I do recommend you to watch ‘Pi’ if you haven’t already.

Autoimmune relates to topics about obsession and disease. Watching the movie ‘Pi’ made me realise how perfectly a lot of the sequences in the movie portrays these topics. I decided to make it into a video to give the song some extra attention – as it is my favourite song from our last album – but also for the fun and sheer creativity of it.” – Oscar

‘Autoimmune ‘ Lyrics:

A fixation in my head
And I dream and I dread
You coward pretend

A deficiency, a deficiency
You coward pretend
Nothing is and never be
You coward pretend
Nothing is and never be

A fixation in my head
And I dream and I dread
20 hours my skin is red
You coward pretend

A million things to say
All this pressure
I am drowning in

An open wound
Don’t let them in
You’ve let me in

When your body is attacking itself
Every atom is misinformed
