PREAMP DISASTER – four musicians , 15 years together, developing one common passion: the creation of spherical and epochal soundscapes. Built in result of jamming and arranging is atmospheric post doom, as hard as metal, as experimental as post rock, as tight as stoner rock, PREAMP DISASTER recognizes what is needed to let their craft evolve: patience. Captivating guitar lines, some synthesizer and whispered vocals have just as accepted as hammering downbeats, booming amps and growl vocals as soon as the songs experience their mighty outbursts.
PREAMP DISASTER will release their fourth studio album “By The Edges” on February 4th via Czar Of Crickets label. Recorded, mixed and mastered by V.O. Pulver at Little Creek Studio, the full-length is being promoted by the muscularly composed, yet atmospheric and ethereal single “Above The Bloodline”.

Asked about their take on the first single, the band says that they “wanted to create an opener with a spherical soundscape, a lot of power and still clear song structures. It’s a punch line for the ears that invites the listener to be carried along; a typical Preamp Disaster song, from the epochal guitar sequences to the hardcore heavy shouting parts at the end.”
“The music is created over long jam sessions in the band room. Some songs are created within a few hours, others over days or even months. Everyone brings in their own ideas of soundscapes and these then serve as the basis and inspiration for the coming parts of a song. This is how idiosyncratic and differentiated songs are created. The voice and its lyrics are intended more as a fifth instrument than to really convey a message. Nevertheless, critical thoughts about the self and the we are expressed.”
Catch the band live on February 5th in Lucerne, Treibhaus, Switzerland, at the band’s album release show with supporting act Jabar.
“This roiling, slow-burner churns along with alternating atmospheric guitar lines over an ascending rhythm for several minutes until the arrival of guitarist/vocalist Urs Schnyder, who shouts a few lines of lyrics as the rest of the band—drummer Sandro Hächler, guitarist Damian Ruckstuhl and bassist/synths Silvan Weibel—brings the song to a crunching close.” – Decibel Magazine
