‘Chapters of an Open Heart’ by emotional alt pop rock act Goldview explores the complexity of relationships. The 3-track project touches on different types of relationships, ranging from toxic to healthy and great. Our today’s guest, the band’s vocalist Trevor Schmid, sat down to explain the new release track by track in a special video above.
Goldview is an alternative/pop group hailing from San Jose, California, comprised of lead singer Trevor Schmidt, guitarist Newton Huynh, and bassist Nathan Huynh.
The band’s origins date back to 2015, when the Huynh brothers first established the group. After going through several name and lineup changes, they settled on the name Goldview in 2018.
Influenced by artists like Green Day, Taylor Swift, and CHVRCHES, Goldview’s music combines elements of alternative and pop.
Their songs often explore themes of perseverance in the face of hardship and chasing one’s dreams.
Goldview has released a number of singles since their official formation, working with producers such as Ace Enders from The Early November, Nik Bruzzese from Man Overboard, and Sam Pura (State Champs, The Story So Far).
Their new EP, “Chapters of An Open Heart,” features three tracks that delve into the intricacies of relationships, both lyrically and sonically. Blending pop and punk influences, Goldview aims to connect with their listeners on a deeply personal level through these candid accounts of love. The band has previously shared the stage with No Pressure (Parker Cannon from The Story So Far), Youth Fountain, Young Culture, Lil Lotus, and Crooked Teeth.
