Houston shoegaze band DAZE recently released their latest single, “She Said,” on July 15, 2024. This track is the second standalone single from the band this year, following the earlier release of “Headrush.”
Partnering with Pacific Northwest-based label Neon Bloodbath, DAZE continues to tease us with their unique blend of dreamy rock and nostalgic vibes.
The song “She Said” is a deeply moody and sensual piece that explores the themes of heartbreak and complicated feelings of separation.
It draws parallels between the vocalist Nikki’s personal experiences and her mother’s separation, offering a poignant narrative that resonates with many listeners.
The track features a slower BPM, with a drowned-out chorus that conveys the strain and emotion of yelling after a loved one leaves. The guitars add a sense of tension and release towards the end, enhancing the overall feeling of overwhelming nostalgia and comfort in devastation.
To celebrate this release, DAZE has shared their list of favorite Texas-based bands. Here are their top picks.
