ENTRANCE (Guy Blakeslee) Debuts New Single, “Always The Right Time”

1 min read

Los Angeles based musician Guy Blakeslee akaENTRANCE, is excited to announce that this April, he will be hitting the road with his band to embark on their first tour of the year in support of his forthcoming album, Book Of Changes, which he will be releasing on February 24th via Thrill Jockey.  Additionally, today he released the lead single off of the album, “Always The Right Time,” which was mixed by Chris Coady (Future Islands, Cass McCombs).

Book of Changes was produced by Blakeslee along with David Vandervelde (Father John Misty, Tim Kinsella) and mixed by Grammy nominated engineer Sarah Register (David Bowie, The Shins). The new album follows a busy year of touring including select headlining shows that had Blakeslee premiering his new band as well as supporting slots with Beach House (US, August), and Explosions in the Sky (UK, October).

This round of tour dates will take ENTRANCE throughout the country, hitting major cities including Seattle, Chicago, and New York, before ending in Blakeslee’s hometown of Baltimore on the 15th. In addition, ENTRANCE is doing a handful of February dates including two with Bill Callahan and a Valentine’s Day Planned Parenthood Benefit presented by Panache and taking place at the Teragram Ballroom. For the Planned Parenthood Benefit, ENTRANCE will be joining an impressive list of artists including Ty Segall, Kevin Morby, and King Tuff.

Additionally, last week, Blakeslee introduced the world to yet another new track, “Not Gonna Say Your Name,” a protest song in response to the current political climate. You can watch the video that coincides with the song – a beautifully-edited and emotional collaboration of fan submitted footage from protests that have taken place all over the country since the November election. Since its release, the track has gained momentum via coverage from the likes of Vulture, The Observer, .Mic, Flaunt, Okayplayer and many others; with all proceeds from purchases and streams going directly to Planned Parenthood.
