Inspired by the almighty gods of black metal, also known as VENOM, the previously released new track from Norwegian blackened sludge metal act MARTYRS called “Morning Star” was an aggressive and relentless attack that just never stops. The second track from the upcoming EP is called “Sic Semper Tyrannis” and we are premiering it exclusively below! It borrows from the bleakest depths of rock and blends it with black and sludge metal influences to finally cast a spell. Just these 2 tracks suggest increasingly considered approach to songwriting, so we really can’t wait to give you the full record. Check out the band’s official word about “Sic Semper Tyrannis” and launch the player below!
The lyrics is your typical anti-establishment tirade, specifically against organized religion and its perverse leaders. But although the theme is well known for most metalheads, punks and scumbags, the song shows the band from a more experimental side. And it has become a live favorite of both band and fans. Burn your flag, turn your crosses upside down and listen to “Sic Semper Tyrannis”!
