Örebro atmospheric bluesy rockers KARPOV releases new video; offers exclusive commentary

1 min read

The atmospheric vocals, swampy blues riffs and eerie ritual feel blend together perfectly in the newest music video from Swedish rock band KARPOV. The track comes from the band’s recent album “Waiting For The Comet” and serves a balanced mix of dark grooves and melancholy explorations. The band have also released a drugged out music video for the final track Diamant and both of them are available below.

The band offered the following:

The somewhat surreal video was produced and direcred by Martin Henningsson who also handles the drums in Karpov. The video was shot in the deep woods around a closed down mine and in the home of singer Mattias Karpov.

Although the video was made on a zero budget, the lyrics are rich. Diamant, translated to diamond, is a commentary on the current politcal state in Sweden and in Europe. A great deal of people seem to get more and more turned away from their conciousness and more turned on by hate.

Although Diamant, apart from the rest of the album, is entirely in Swedish it speaks a clear language – it’s dark, dystopic and dead on.

Comet, the first single from the album Waiting for the Comet, was released in mid 2016:
