“Casualty” by metalcore acy GRAVEBOUND embodies the most beloved characteristics of the metalcore genre with bone-chilling riffs, snarling growls, and a tempo built for a mosh pit. The lyrics describe the unquenchable thirst for power within the music industry that can leave unsuspecting artists feeling like casualties of deceit.
The band explains: “This song is about false promises, primarily within the music industry. Someone can promise you something and when it doesn’t come to fruition, you are left exposed and ultimately covered in shame. These ‘snakes’ in the industry (as well as life in general) will only take from you until you’re bled dry and ‘Casualty’ was written to show how one can acknowledge their wrongdoing and fight back to get what is deserved.”
Gravebound is stopping at nothing to reach new heights with their unique melding of sub-genres within the metal realm. Their distinct mix of punishing riffs and dreamy synth-pop set them apart from the rest. The band delivers beautiful and unique melody lines, soaring choruses, and heavy breakdowns, while never sacrificing quality lyrical content.
Their inspirations include industry titans like Architects, Ice Nine Kills, and Wage War. Add their collaborations with producer Kile Odell (Motionless In White) into the mix and it’s clear that GraveBound is staking their claim in the music scene.
