I SMELL BLOOD bring an instrumental cacophony of solid math rhythm and punk rock noise that is undeniably . Their quick and tight visceral sonic explorations come together under the Out Of Sound house, which is also home to a plethora of house shows in London, ON, and birthed their last release MANFACE. I Smell Blood are Ric (Eric) Lourenco on drums and Zon (Zach) Hoffman on bass. The duo is taking their 2014 release out on tour with constant collaborators and fellow Out Of Sounders WHOOP-Szo through Ontario and Quebec in April bringing along a new run of MANFACE LPs and a slew of new songs off yet-unannounced releases.
“… sinewy, muscular songs writhed and snapped in wild and wonderful ways. As a bass and drum duo they immediately call to mind Death From Above 1979, but the distorted bass squelches and jazzier drum style puts them closer to the likes of Lightning Bolt” – Michael Rancic, Chart Attack
Lending their talents to a range of other projects including Serf Kanata, Red Arms and WHOOP-Szo the duo in I Smell Blood have refocused on the project to bring their hair raising, sweat inducing and disorienting and dynamic glitch-noise to the forefront. This comes along with two new videos that follow in this trend of being altogether unsettling, visually and sonically, to grab ones attention and induce an uncomfortable, yet enjoyable, state. Steven Lourenco, of the now defunct trio Say Domino, was drafted to bridge the musical and visual.
