Escapist Records has just signed Albuquerque, NM’s SWEET WEAPONS.
Scroll down to see the official announcement and then go here to see their recent performance with SILVER SNAKES.
Here’s the official word from the label:
The four-piece outfit’s sound is rooted in emotional-influenced punk and 90’s alternative rock, mixing equal parts Jimmy Eat World, Texas is the Reason, Foo Fighters, and Quicksand in a sound all their own.
On the heals of two successful demo recordings and persistent touring, the band has made a name for themselves with engaging performances alongside the likes of Touché Amoré, The Wonder Years, Joyce Manor, Title Fight, Daytrader, and countless others.
Sweet Weapons is currently in the process of writing new material that will appear on an upcoming split 7” with good friends Sleeping Weather on Contrived Recordings as well as their Escapist debut. After the completion of a fall tour with Sleeping Weather, Sweet Weapons will enter the studio to record their debut full-length. An early 2013 release is currently being planned for the LP through Escapist Records.
In the interim, the band’s most recent demo recordings have been made available for free downloads via Bandcamp.
