THE MARS VOLTA are on undefinite hiatus

1 min read

THE MARS VOLTA are on an indefinite hiatus. Check out the official word from a recent interview with Omar Rodriguez-Lopez below:

You said that you are open still to doing more with the Mars Volta and At the Drive-In. People on the internet are very afraid that the Mars Volta is done. Are you on a hiatus, or are you on one of those โ€œindefinite hiatusesโ€ like Fugazi where you never actually break up but you also never get back together? Or is that something that you just donโ€™t know?

I donโ€™t know, and Iโ€™m notโ€ฆinsecure enough to have to ask myself that. Itโ€™s like, weโ€™ve done that for 10 years, 11 years. Now weโ€™re all doing different things, and everything that weโ€™re doing informs how we express ourselves, and so if that happens then it happens and if it doesnโ€™t it doesnโ€™t. Itโ€™s not something to be worried about. It shouldnโ€™t occupy a space in the mind. Thereโ€™s way too many things that are much too important to occupy space in the mind. Thatโ€™s first and foremost on my agenda: Whoโ€™s paying rent in my mind? If youโ€™re a bad tenant, get out.
