Toronto emo rocker JOJII premiere new EP “Vamps”

1 min read

Shoegazin’ emo pop rocker JOJII is releasing his new EP tomorrow on May 19th and we’re pelased to host the advance stream today! Inspired by 80s and 90s pop culture, Campire movie “The Lost Boys” and Tarantino’s affair of the heart “True Romance”, Joel “Jojii” Vigilante follow the ideals of black comedy romanticism and embeds them into his own, smooth and synth tinged Midwest emo, California’s garage, synth pop and shoegaze. JOJII manages to strike a balance of varied styles and sounds. He’s fused a couple of outwardly contrary tastes and presented the blend as a concise and rewarding record. Listen to the full thing below and watch JOJII’s recent music video ‘Mirrors’, directed by The Trenches Media Inc.!

Vamps” is out tomorrow, May 19th, and can be grabbed via JOJII‘s official Bandcamp profile.

Filled with juxtapositions including self-condemnation, salacious infatuation, and euphoric addiction, “Vamps” is an EP of obsession with a blissfully destructive lifestyle and determinate expression of yearning for another.
