Canada extreme metal outfit WAKE have released a new track titled, “Mouth Of Abolition”, from the bands forthcoming full-length album, Devouring Ruin, today via Kerrang! The track, featuring epic guitar work from Ben Hutcherson (Khemmis, Glacial Tomb), shows the band stretch their genre-bending sound beyond the bands previous outputs. Ripping guitars, blasting drums, and tormented vocals push WAKE into a league of their own over the 6+ minute track. Listen at Kerrang and check out other 2 new tracks below.
About the track and Hutcherson’s contributions, guitarist Rob LaChance comments:
“Ben is a great friend so we wrote to him and asked him to be involved and he was really into it. As a band, we all love Khemmis and we’ve always respected them and had a great relationship. He’s an amazing guitar player and an amazing friend. When I heard his solo, I thought, wow….WAKE has never had anything like this before on a record. Personally this is my favourite song off the record. It shows where WAKE has been and the direction we’re headed in. The friction of time has worn well.”
Devouring Ruin will be released on March 27th via Translation Loss Records on LP (one variant already SOLD OUT), CD, cassette, and digital. Pre-order is available now.
