The record sets the tone immediately, oozes with DIY spirit, and as a proper fun punk rock listen, is catchy, yet rough around the edges. Listen below and stay tuned from more from these guys as we’re sure they’ll be a reliable export very soon!
The band commented:
All of us in Screaming at Traffic are very proud of the debut EP. In four songs I think we manage to really encapsulate what we’re all about. We’ve all been collaborating together in some way or another for the past ten plus years, and we’ve really kind of grown together as songwriters. We tackle some pretty personal issues on the record, and it was cool to get a bunch of personal shit off our chests in the EP. We talk about anxiety issues, alcoholism, we even tackle death, but we also have fun with it (One of the songs is definitely about Dungeons and Dragons). I think that’s really the whole point. We all have our own baggage but we just don’t let it get us down. We find a way to rise above it, and make music that we all have a blast playing.
The EP is being released July 11th digitally worldwide on Spotify, Google Play, Amazon, and many other streaming sites. The band will be doing a release party in Winnipeg in August and a subsequent tour in the fall to support the EP. The record is also available for preorder on iTunes and will be released as pay what you want on the band’s Bandcamp.
