After 10 years of being a band, AS BLOOD RUNS BLACK have decided to part their ways. No details were posted on the band’s new album they’ve been working on for the last couple of months. Titled “Ground Zero”, the album was supported by an Indiegogo campaign, which apparently failed to meet its funding goal. Nevertheless, the band has managed to wrap up recordings for the new outing in April 2014.
Drummer Hector “Leche” De Santiago issued the following statement:
“After YEARS of uphill battles, dealing with legalities, politics, getting robbed blind by our ex label, left for dead and getting shelved by the industry… I’m here to to say all things come to an end. As Blood Runs Black was born in my parents basement and has been the biggest part of my life since 2003. She was my daughter. We had a dream and we ran as far as we could with it. Forever in debt and grateful for the band of brothers (past and present) who risked their lives, contributed, and truly risked it all for the love and passion of music. We literally gave and lost everything in this storm. THANKS to all who supported and gave us a chance to share our music with you guys. We were all broken kids and you guys (and gals) gave us a chance to live. THANK YOU!!”
UPDATE / August 17th: the band explained about their yet-to-be-released album:
“There have been alot of questions recently regarding the future of the band and the release of Ground Zero. We wanted to reach out and let you know that Ground Zero will be coming out in the fall and you will be receiving your Indiegogo contributor perks before the public release of the album. We are putting together a worldwide tour schedule through next summer to support the album starting this fall in North America. Let us know where you want to see us play and we’ll do our best to make it happen.
“More detailed information is coming soon. Thank you for bearing with us through this challenging time, your support is what keeps us going.”
Here’s the official word on the album, released in Spring 2014:
“Despite having all our computers, hard drives, cameras, passports and clothes stolen from us while recording our new album, we have successfully completed recording all the tracks for our new album Ground Zero. It’s been a long complicated process, but everything is now recorded and in the process of being mixed. We are currently working out the final details and will be determining a release date soon.
We’d like to thank all contributors to our indiegogo crowd fund campaign. With your help and support we’ve been able to put together a record that we’re all extremely proud of. You should expect your perk packages to arrive shortly before the release date which is soon to be determined.
Thank you to all of our fans and followers for your patience and support over the process of making this album. We can’t wait to get it released and in your hands.”
