White Russian Records and I For Us Records have announced they will be co-releasing a new EP from Utrecht / Brabant based raw rock / punk rock band SCREW HOUSTON (mentioned in our recent interview with Dutch hardcore punk band TARANTINO). Slated for a February 10th release, “Like Fighting Snakes” will appeal to fans of both edgy rock and punk rock! Listen below and watch their new video for the song ‘This Is Where We Part Ways’!
The band wrapped up their recent endeavours and talked about their future plans in the recent statement:
2016 was a weird one. We started it with a new bass player. And after a while it just wasn’t working out. So we had to search for a new one again. Found a new one in Anthony. And this time everything fell into place. And we started working on new music. Not thinking about a specific genre we found that we wanted to go in a different direction than melodic hardcore. I (Roelof) started more singing than screaming and it felt right. We recorded the first song we wrote called All Rise at Big Dog Recordings with the talented Tim Van Doorn! The single was released by White Russian Records. The response was overwhelming and we did a couple of great shows and festivals. We teamed up with Tim again to record our EP.

The label commented on the new record:
After a steady output of quality melodic hardcore EP’s and a full length, the band decided to expand its musical horizons after adding a new bass player and starting adding more depth and dynamics to their songs. Adding some cleaner vocals and more harmonies, the band surprised when releasing the single “All Rise” in July 2016, to an overwhelmingly positive respons.
“Like Fighting Snakes” is the logical next step in the bands career. For the recording the band once again teamed up with Tim van Doorn at Big Dog Recording. Moving on in the direction they took with “All Rise“, the songs on “Like Fighting Snakes” are once again personal songs that deal with topics of challenges and chaos.
