Produced by Vincent Freeman of The Underground from Randolph, VT, “Cooked”, the newest music video from Vermont based sludgy hardcore/grindcore hybrid QUARANTEAM is a one hell of a ride. Telling the story of the current political climate from the viewpoint of a grocery store worker, and mixing it up with ripping headbangin’ with Muppets, the new visualizer is a killer. Watch above and get more details below, including the band’s track by track rundown and more insights about their project.
QUARANTEAM’s debut EP comes out today, June 5th, and can be listened below.
The band comments:
Thomas and I watched “Blood Sport” with Claude Van Damme and really appreciated the sequencing general vibe and effects in this movie. 80s, retro shit is amazing. That is the theme of our approach to this EP.
QUARATEAM is: J. Jacques – Vocal/lead bass/keys & T. Frohlich – Drums.
𝑇𝑟𝑎𝑐𝑘 𝑏𝑦 𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑐𝑘 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑎𝑟𝑦:
Doornail — the song itself is inspired by the passing of a friend from opioid addiction, but it is extremely open to interpretation. I enlisted the help of 47 of my friends on social media to record socially distant gang vocals for the song.
Cooked — cooked is a song that tells the story of our current political climate from the viewpoint of a grocery store worker.
How’d it Get Burned — this song is heavily influenced by the musical stylings of the band aerosmith and rage against the machine. the song evolved into something darker and funkier than what we envisioned. the lyrics themselves are about hope and redemption. the song title comes from the movie “Wicker Man,” starring Nicholas Cage.
Chicken King — Chicken King was inspired by local anti gun enforcement protesters, fighting a ban on weapons they didn’t have or need.
This band was started in March of 2020 by best friends and housemates Thomas Frohlich and Jackson Jacques. Cooped up indoors isolating Thomas began teaching himself how to play the drums. Jackson got sick of listening to him play downstairs and decided to join him on bass guitar. Comments the band:
After about 3 months of tireless practicing and lessons we had four songs complete. We recorded them at the Underground in Randolph, Vermont with Vincent Freeman while practicing recommended social distancing. After the upcoming digital release there will be limited 10-inch vinyl records available.
