METZ have shared a new music video for the second single from their upcoming fourth full-length record called Atlas Vending.
Frontman Alex Edkins comments: “Hail Taxi” is all about the struggles of adulthood, ‘Hail Taxi’ is about looking back. The lyrics deal with the idea of reconciling or coming to terms with who you were and who you’ve become.”
“I wanted to tell a simple story that captures the song’s overarching theme. The idea of longing for the past creates many visual motifs and I wanted to create a piece that feels timeless and conveys a sense of isolation, highlighting that while we can hide our feelings, we can’t run from them.”
Atlas Vending is out October 9th via Sub Pop and Royal Mountain Records.
Lyrics:
Hard sell, feels like I’ve been here before
Break right through it to find a new fix
This time, there ain’t no question to answer
Because our love never fit their designI’m sending messages to you
Hard sell, the structures fall through the floor
Bend into it, to make the shoe fit
Brand new morning taking hold
Did you censor your senses for all those living their lives on top of you?I’m sending messages to you
I want to take you back there
Under the pinhole sky
We’d sit and watch as the world passed by
It never looked that way beforeI’ll take nothing less than all
I want to take you back there
Under the pinhole sky
We’d sit and watch as the world passed by
I want to take you back there
No more asking why
We’d sit and watch as the world passed byHail taxi, Hail taxi, Hail taxi, Hail taxi
It never looked that way before
