HOT MULLIGAN has debuted “Gans Media Retro Games,” their latest single from the forthcoming album “Why Would I Watch,” which will be available on May 12 via Wax Bodega. The track is a follow up to their previous single “Shhhh! Golf Is On”, premiered in early March.
HOT MULLIGAN, a terminally online emo quartet from Lansing, Michigan, has established themselves as a formidable force in the pop-punk and post-emo genres, which they claim to have invented. Despite their irreverent approach to music-making, Hot Mulligan has a way of manifesting things into existence, evidenced by their successful name-dropping of Michelle Branch and Mark Hoppus in song titles.
Comprising of vocalist Tades Sanville, guitarists Chris Freeman and Ryan Malicsi, and drummer Brandon Blakeley, Hot Mulligan formed in 2014 and released their first EPs, Fenton and Honest & Cunning, under Michigan-based label Save Your Generation Records. In 2017, they signed with No Sleep Records and re-released an EP titled Opportunities.
The band’s ascent from basements to buzz band is due to the success of their two beloved albums, Pilot (2018) and you’ll be fine (2020), which have garnered 140 million Spotify streams. Their third LP, Why Would I Watch, due to be released on May 12 via Wax Bodega, cements their status as one of the most versatile and emotionally impactful bands in the underground music scene.
Vinyl pre-orders for the album are already available for shipping ahead of the release date.
