Emerging from the Phoenix shoegaze scene, GLIXEN has crafted a soundscape that demands attention. Their latest offering, “Sick Silent,” is an immersive experience.

Esteban’s guitar work, paired with his harmonies alongside Aislinn’s lead vocals, doesn’t just play out—it pulls you in, enveloping you in the dreamlike world GLIXEN has so thickly constructed.

The track was born earlier this year in the quiet expanses of Juniper Hills, California, where the band collaborated with renowned producer Sonny DiPerri, known for his work with My Bloody Valentine and DIIV.

Sick Silent” is the first glimpse into their yet-to-be-announced EP, recorded during these sessions.

2024 has already been a landmark year for GLIXEN. Sharing stages with heavyweights like Interpol and DIIV, they’ve solidified their status as a band to watch, with accolades from Complex, Alternative Press, and Brooklyn Vegan.

Their upcoming tours with Turnover, Tanukichan, and Glare only add to their momentum, promising to extend their reach even further.

But it’s not just the recorded material that sets GLIXEN apart; their live performances have become the stuff of legend. Known for transforming venues into otherworldly spaces with their signature blend of crashing cymbals, roaring guitars, and enveloping distortion, the band has been on a relentless journey, pulling audiences into their unique cosmos.

Their debut EP, She Only Said, released last year, was a testament to their power to captivate—a collection of gauzy, gripping shoegaze that left listeners in a trance.

Their recent appearance on Audiotree Live, recorded on February 29, 2024, in Chicago, IL, further cemented their reputation.

During the session, GLIXEN delved into their experiences as a band, sharing moments from the road and reflecting on the journey that has brought them to this pivotal moment.

As they prepare to hit the road again this fall, with new dates added in Eugene and Reno, GLIXEN’s trajectory seems to be just right.
