Bangkok’s heavy-hitting hardcore outfit WHISPERS just unleashed a relentless new single, “Close Your Eyes,” a track that feels like a direct punch to the gut.
WHISPERS doesn’t hold back, blending the raw intensity of metallic hardcore with themes of karmic reckoning and the inescapable consequences of one’s actions. Frontman Nitisart “Mike” Chaiburi drives the point home, declaring, “Even if you’re big in the sky, with power and fame, you can’t escape the karma of your actions. Sins don’t wash away with status or wealth.” It’s a worldview that fits for a band that’s unapologetically rooted in the darker side of hardcore.
The cover art for Yom-Ma-Lok—a haunting scene straight from the pits of some demonic abyss—reflects the hellish themes WHISPERS thrives on.
WHISPERS has been riding high on momentum since signing with Flatspot Records, a major move that’s set them up for the release of their upcoming EP, dropping December 13th.
With industry heavyweights like Andy Nelson (BrickTop Recording) and Brad Boatright (Audiosiege) handling the mix and mastering, WHISPERS crafted a hard hitting sound that’s sharp, punishing, and worthy of their hard-earned reputation. Looking at the history of the gang called Speed, another powerhouse from that part of the world is emerging here.
The band recently wrapped up a massive European tour, tearing through cities alongside hardcore stalwarts Speed, End It, and Life’s Question.
Expect more soon as we’re working with the band to bring you an exclusive tour journal, packed with behind-the-scenes insights and raw footage from their European run. Keep an eye out for this feature, dropping right here on IDIOTEQ, as WHISPERS prepares to unleash even more fury with their December EP release.
