fallfiftyfeet just dropped “Running from the Sky,” a track that hits like a sledgehammer and refuses to pull any punches. Dave Wallace’s ferocious screams go toe-to-toe with James Becca’s clean vocals, creating a push-and-pull dynamic that’s as intense as it is addictive.
Becca and guitarist Anthony Buck throw down riffs that are heavy, sharp, and just chaotic enough to keep you guessing. The song digs into the cracks of a system built on lies, pairing its message with a video full of gritty basement vibes and unsettling religious imagery.
Wallace doesn’t mince words about the song’s origins: “The lyrics to this song kind of came to me in a dream. And by that, I mean I woke up in the middle of the night and started writing them down for some reason. The next morning, I clicked on a random demo in our folder and fit all the pieces together. The song is about a small portion of my feelings on organized religions and their gods.”

The video drives the message home—spliced-together shots of ominous religious symbols clash with raw footage of the band throwing down in close quarters.
fallfiftyfeet’s story starts back in the Tumblr days of the 2010s, where Wallace and Becca first connected online. That friendship eventually turned into a full-fledged band in 2020, and they’ve been on the grind ever since. Their debut album Twisted World Perspective came out in 2021, followed by the Lonely If You Go EP in 2022, which caught the attention of BrooklynVegan, Distorted Sound, and Mathcore Index. Then there was the 2024 split with Wounded Touch, proving these guys aren’t slowing down anytime soon.
They’ve kept things DIY, playing shows in smaller cities across the U.S. but still managing to share the stage with heavy hitters like Underoath and Seeyouspacecowboy. 2025 is shaping up to be their biggest year yet, with more music and more shows on the horizon.
