Leeds, UK’s KHUDA have decided to disband after their next full length release. The sad news was delivered through the official message available below. Read it in full right here:
Towards the end of our European tour in September, we reached a decision together, that it would be our last, and now, after a period of reflection and planning, feels like the right time to announce this. There are many reasons for the decision, and no one single factor contributed the most… We have always been a band, that puts exploring, meeting new people, playing new and exciting places, countries and cities, whilst also trying to make fun and interesting music with our questionable abilites before achieving any success or financial reward.
Our last few years have been intense, we\’ve played over 400 shows, put out 2 records, met some of the greatest and kindest people in the world, and seen many beautiful places… this has resulted in our music and live performaces adopting the same intensity and excitement that both of us as individuals have been experiencing. We both feel like this is something that can\’t and shouldn\’t ever be faked. We now live in different countries, many miles apart and for the first time as a band we dont have the opportunity to tour and practice regularly… which for us, and we\’ve worked over the last few years, means that our intensity and work ethic that has really created and driven the band has been lost… Of course we do have the option to continue, tour less frequently, for shorter periods, ask more money for shows to make up for the distance and extra costs and hope that the limited practicing time we have is enough to play a decent gig… but that just doesn\’t feel right at all, and neither of us are particularly comfortable with that idea.So, here is our plan…. We\’re going to record the album we\’ve been working on over the last year or so later this month, in Leeds with our friend Pedro Mendes from Braga, Portugal. It will be our last release as a band, and we\’re really excited to share these songs with you… We\’re also going to play one final gig with some good friends at the Royal Park Cellars in Leeds on Saturday February 9th!
That\’s all for now, but there will be more really soon… over the coming months we still have an album to record & release, one show left to play and most importantly so many great people to thank.. so we\’re not finished just yet and for now, it\’s not goodbye! We hope you all understand…
