Formed back in 1998, Canadian grindcore band FUCK THE FACTSย have recently releasedย one of the most exciting experimental grindcoreย records in the last couple ofย years and the funny fact is that the “Abandoned” is almost the antithesis of what one expects from an EP. Insanely intense and ridiculouslyย underrated, the band’s recent effortsย take their art and DIY ethos even further.ย I truly love watching themย acknowledging their roots while constantlyย refreshing and developing their sound. Therefore, I am greatly honored to give you my video interview with the band’s founder and guitarist Topon Das, discussing the history of FUCK THE FACTS, their newest undertakings and plans for the future! FUCK THE FACTS have recently announced a split with Quebec’s FISTFUCK, featuring 17 new songs (!), to be released on 10” vinyl onย May 12th, teased by a fierce track called “Nukestalgia”, streaming below. The main reason we wanted to arrange this interview was your recent EP โAbandonedโ, released on Noise Salvation, bringing in a sick blend of the good old grind youโve been known for, and unpredictable experimental metal! Apart from the music itself, whatโs different in this new distribution approach you took with this release? What does DIY mean to you?
How would you sum up your cooperation with Relapse Records?
What are your next steps when it comes to the Noise Salvation development? Are there already plans to sign new bands and releases non-FTF records? I mean, there are a bunch of recordings available in your online store, but are there some strict โsigningsโ involved? Please explain the nature of the label.
How different is it from your own Ghetto Blaster Recordings?
