*In a world where differences are the only thing we seem to have in common, a great idea was born — with millions of people struggling to live with life altering conditions and disabilities, Tourette Syndrome is one that is often overlooked, misunderstood, and unfortunately poorly communicated to those who aren’t educated on it. TOURETTE’S CONTROLS OUR THOUGHTS, and depending on the severity, it has a way of making life a living hell! Like Autism, TS is a spectrum, and on the state-national levels, we are beyond underfunded as a community. It’s true. This includes over half the states lacking doctors to properly diagnose kids with Tourette disorders. One of the biggest issues is the overall lack of advocacy in the education system. For example, children are being bullied and kicked out of school because some teachers can’t deal with distracting situations, and in some cases, kids grow up with broken social lives and all sorts on unnecessary trauma. It’s heartbreaking; TS is one of the most serious, debilitating and complicated neurological disorders known to the medical world, and like other neglected conditions, it has NO CURE, NO WORKING MEDICINE and NO GREAT ALTERNATIVES. Diagnosed at age 10, I still learn to cope with it, as complex tics/OCD’s are always evolving. Now back to dreaming — imagine if people could relieve their pain, and bring us all one step closer to some peace … that’d be pretty nice, right? Well, it all boils down to funding, and that’s something the Tourette community is in need of. We thought a wonderful way to raise money for national awareness and extensive research is to bring the world something super original and exciting: a benefit compilation featuring bands from a dozen countries, representing the kids, adults and sufferers of our countries — Some popular. Some local. What can I say? Ya can’t name em’ all!
