Swiss hardcore punk stalwarts COILGUNS have just dropped their blistering new single “We Missed The Parade,” accompanied by an intense, raw video shot and edited by Zachary Hug. The single is available digitally and on a limited edition 7-inch vinyl through Humus Records.

The video for “We Missed The Parade” offers a gritty, authentic look at COILGUNS’ live performance energy. Shot during their UK tour last April, it was born out of necessity when their stage technician, Zachary Hug, found himself with no room to work on stage. He picked up the camera and captured the band’s raw, unfiltered performances each night, resulting in a spontaneous and compelling visual experience.
The single was crafted by COILGUNS themselves, recorded by Scott Evans at Ocean Sounds in Giske, Norway, mixed by Tom Dalgety, and mastered by Robin Schmidt. Initially considered a potential B-side due to its classic punk-hardcore vibe, “We Missed The Parade” grew into a definitive anthem for the band.
Guitarist and founder Jonathan Nido explains, “When we recorded that song, we thought it would be more of a B-side. With its classic punk-hardcore feeling, it felt like it might belong to an old COILGUNS era. Through the mixing process, the track grew on everyone and felt more and more like an anthem, specifically one of our very own life. The track talks about getting older, still doing the same thing, not being sure why we still do it, but nonetheless, we’ll keep on doing it our own way.”
Hailing from La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, COILGUNS have carved a name for themselves with their three studio albums—”Commuters” (2013), “Millenials” (2018), and “Watchwinders” (2019). Known for their explosive live performances, they’ve rocked stages at festivals like Hellfest, Paléo, Roadburn, Motocultor, Greenfield, and Soulcrusher.
