Philadelphia-based alternative upstarts AUTUMN PYRE released their crushing new single “Stuck“, which will appear on their debut album due out later this year. You can stream the song below.
The project started in 2020 as the creative brainchild of guitarist / vocalist Giovanni Adiletta and has grown to include a revolving cast of live and studio musicians. Their previous single “Brain Bleed” dropped earlier this summer and served as a frenetic introduction to their latest collection of songs, all of which are recorded, mixed and mastered by Jacob Clarke (Superheaven) at Creep Recording Studio.
“Stuck” highlights Autumn Pyre’s versatile songwriting ability with a blend of alternative rock, grunge and shoegaze elements that create a unique and compelling sonic tapestry. Not content to rest on the laurels of simply being a ‘punk’ band, their latest single boasts a deeply melodic chorus supported by a wall of lush guitar, bass and percussion. Singer / guitarist Giovanni Adiletta has a striking voice that wouldn’t be out of place on a mainstream rock record, with enough grit in his delivery to give each lyric a biting edge.
While comparisons could be made to stalwarts like Joyce Manor, Audioslave and Nirvana, Autumn Pyre is clearly on a musical path all their own.
Adiletta has this to say about the new single: “Musically, the track punches with heavy distorted guitar riffs and dynamic transitions influenced by my love for bands like Royal Blood and Rage Against the Machine. Lyrically, the song expresses frustrations and resentment with working a passionless job and feeling stuck from societal pressures.”
Autumn Pyre will be releasing their debut album later this year. The band will be performing at Dobbs on South in Philadelphia on 9/24 and Heaven Can Wait in New York City on 9/27. You can follow the band, buy tickets and listen to their music here.
