Political punk icons, ANTI-FLAG, are releasing their new album, 20/20 Vision, via Spinefarm Records. To celebrate, the band have shared an in-studio performance video of the entire record. 20/20 Vision finds the long-running band at their best, seamlessly merging the energy and passion of their music with uncompromising sociopolitical commentary. Drawing early acclaim from Billboard, Kerrang, Alternative Press, BrooklynVegan, and more, the album propels the anthemic sound and idealistic spirit of Anti-Flag to new heights and makes it clear that their music and message is as vital as ever.
For over two decades Anti-Flag have been at the forefront of socially conscious punk rock, tirelessly releasing music, touring, organizing, and introducing generations of fans to progressivism through fiery protest songs. With 20/20 Vision the Pittsburgh, PA based band prove that they have plenty of vitriol left, aiming to face the challenges of our chaotic sociopolitical times head on. The band pull no punches lyrically, immediately drawing a line in the sand against the fascistic hate mongering of the Trump administration and making it clear that 20/20 Vision is an album intended to explicitly address the here and now.
Vocalist/guitarist Justin Sane recently spoke with Alternative Press and explained the album’s impetus, saying,
“We just felt like when we look back on history, we wanted people to know during this time where we stood and that we didn’t just stay silent. And we also wanted an opportunity to write our own future, you know? Our record is not just a criticism of Donald Trump, although it’s definitely that, but we also try to offer a lot of optimism with the record. When we organize against these things that are obviously crimes against humanity and crimes against our planet, we can write to share them, and we can point things in a positive direction.”
Anti-Flag are touring worldwide throughout the year, including the band’s current run of UK/EU shows, followed by a North American tour in March. See full itinerary below.
