Following the launch of their EP, Gang Called Speed, in June 2022 under the banner of Flatspot Records, Speed, an Australian hardcore band, has become a notable topic of discussion within the genre.
The band has delivered electrifying performances to full houses at various concerts and festivals throughout Australia, Europe, and Asia, and they’ve recently concluded a successful, fully-booked North American tour.
Today, they have released a documentary that captures their journey from Flatspot World in Brooklyn, NY, to Baltimore, MD, and finally to Toronto, Canada, offering an inside look at America’s hardcore music scene.
During their journey, they interacted with prominent names such as Outburst, Drain, Raw Brigade, End It, Never Ending Game, and Flatspot Records’ owners Che Figueroa and Ricky Singh. The documentary, produced, filmed, and edited by their regular collaborator Jack Rudder, is available for viewing here now.
Vocalist Jem shares her feelings about the experience, saying, “Being hardcore kids from Australia, we’ve spent a significant portion of our lives idolizing what America brings to the table. So, the opportunity to finally perform in America and to be appreciated in such a manner is something that’s truly indescribable!”
Speed will be making a comeback to North America on July 30th, marking their second appearance at Sound and Fury in Los Angeles. They are slated to headline shows in California, Texas, and Arizona for the first time, before heading to Philadelphia, PA on August 6th to perform at This Is Hardcore with Bane, End It, Magnitude and others. The full schedule is provided below and tickets can be purchased here now.
