1 min read

AMENRA have premiered a new video teaser of their new upcoming documentary “A Flood Of Light”, produced and directed by Bobby Cochran. Watch above and catch them live at the following stops:

13/03 – True North, Melbourne – AU
03/14 & 03/15 – St Vitus, Brooklyn NY
15/03 & 16/03 – Sphinx, Gent BE

Amenra, originated in 1999 from the West-Flemish hardcore scene and grew over the years into a globally respected collective that continuously explores the boundaries of what it means to be a music group. Through idiosyncratic live performances, highly elaborate artwork and fascinating collaborations with artists from all kinds of disciplines, a completely unique, personal universe emerged around the band that extends far beyond the musical aspect alone.

Photo and videographer Bobby Cochran (° 1972 California, USA) started following Amenra several years ago on various tours through the United States, Europe and Japan. This resulted in a penetrating portrait in which the band members and their closest collaborators look back on the past twenty years under the guidance of captivating images and moving music. Before this documentary film can be viewed elsewhere, it will be screened exclusively in Sphinx Cinema.

An intimate look into the world of the Belgian post metal band for its twentieth birthday.

Amenra came into existence in 1999 as an offset of the Flemish hardcore scene and grew through the years to become a widely respected collective that is continuously pushing the envelope on what it means to be band. Through uncommonly intense live shows, elaborate art work and fascinating collaborations with artists from a slew of disciplines, the band created a completely unique universe or their own, which reaches much further than just the musical side.

Photographer and videographer Bobby Cochran (° 1972 California, USA) started following Amenra a few years ago on various tours of Europe, the United States and Japan. The result is an intimate portrait in which the band members and their closest collaborators reflect upon the past twenty years about stunning images and soul soothing music. Before it can be viewed anywhere else, this documentary has exclusive screenings at Saint Vitus in Brooklyn, NY, True North Melbourne AU and Sphinx Cinema in Ghent, Belgium. – Sphinx Cinema
