Bleak metalcore collides with melodic hardcore in new single from BLEEDING THROUGH and COMEBACK KID

1 min read

Southern California metalcore mainstay Bleeding Through has unveiled a new single, “I Am Resistance,” featuring Andrew Neufeld from Comeback Kid.

The track sets the tone for their ninth full-length album, Nine, which arrives on February 14 via SharpTone Records. It follows earlier singles “Our Brand Is Chaos” and “Dead But So Alive,” and comes after a six-year gap since the band’s previous release, Love Will Kill All.

Vocalist Brandan Schieppati comments on the themes behind “I Am Resistance”:

“I Am Resistance is a song about self reflection. It’s the times in your life that you come close to rock bottom and lose yourself. This song is about the battle of self medication and self destructive behaviors that sometimes grip your throat in life. This is a pledge to what you love and what you are truly devoted to.”

The upcoming record marks Bleeding Through’s return after 25 years in the scene, which Schieppati sums up clearly:

“There’s so much passion and aggression on this album. If you’re a fan of us, you won’t be let down. This is everything we’ve been working towards. This is the culmination of 25 years. This is Bleeding Through in its purest form.”

Nine delivers an intense statement through tracks like “Path Of Our Disease,” whose accompanying video highlights darker elements of human nature and society. Speaking about that song, Schieppati explains:

“‘Path Of Our Disease’ is a song about the disgusting social climate of the world. We are becoming a species that is never satisfied… We are being led by liars and fakes down a path of disappointment. It’s time to break free.”

According to the band, the new album is set to be one of their most brutal releases yet, showcasing their signature heavy riffs and uncompromising aggression.
