Following a huge UK tour earlier this year supporting goth-punks Creeper alongside Puppy and Milk Teeth, Boston’s ENERGY are extremely pleased to announce they will return to the UK this summer for a run of headline tour dates (details below). Tickets go on sale 9am Friday 19th May 2017 and the band will be supported by Southampton punks Miss Vincent on all dates. To celebrate the announcement, the band have revealed the video for their new single ‘A Prayer For Rain’ which you can watch below.

“If you miss early AFI, wish The Nerve Agents would get back together, or have an affinity for 90s era Misfits, then this will hook you in” Punktastic

“Energy are a brilliant band” –UPSET [4/5]

Commenting on the news, the band’s front man TΛNK said:

After receiving nothing short of an astonishingly positive reaction from audiences during our recent tour of the UK with Creeper, Energy are embarking on our first ever headlining tour of the U.K. with Miss Vincent this July.

“We’re also looking forward to debuting some brand new songs for everyone as well as other songs from our lengthy discography that we didn’t have time for during our last run. It’s going to be so fun to return and play for all of our fans over there, to see some familiar faces from last time, and hopefully some new ones as well!”

Lyrics:

We’re hiding all the bones where no one else can see
But now the faces in the ground are staring back at me
You tried through all the years to find a place to hide
But now the walls are closing in
And I can’t get inside
No, I can’t get inside

A prayer for rain
A prayer to wash away the pain
We’ll pray for rain
As it all just burns away

And I’d give anything to brave it through the night
‘Cus I can hear you crying out in the darkness for a light
In the darkness for a light

A prayer for rain
A prayer to wash away the pain
We’ll pray for rain
As it all just burns away

But what if all of this
Were only a dream
And you were here with me
Picking up the pieces in between
The cracks inside ourselves
Where the damage screams
In a place where time stood still
Picking up the pieces

A prayer for rain
A prayer to wash away the pain
We’ll pray for rain
As it all just burns away

A prayer for rain
A prayer to wash away the pain
We prayed for rain
Just to watch it burn away

Formed in February of 2006 in the town of Stoughton, Massachusetts, over the last decade Energy’s signature style of sombre, melancholy melodies and introspective lyrics combined with infectiously poppy hooks has truly cemented them as one of Boston’s most unique bands.

Energy’s latest record, Apparition Sound, features 8 tracks of melodic punk rock that are the sole creations of the band’s frontman, TΛNK.

The record has been carefully crafted and built over a number of years, moving Energy into a new chapter of their musical career. Apparition Sound was recorded and produced by Chris Curran (Four Year Strong, PVRIS, A Loss For Words, It Lives It Breathes) at “Reclaim Studios” in Thompson, CT.

After becoming the sole songwriter for the band in 2012, front man Jason Tankerley (aka TΛNK) began writing songs for what would eventually make up the latest Energy album. Over the years, TΛNK’s vocal delivery has been compared to the likes of Davey Havok, Michael Graves, and Zoli Teglas, while adding his own vast array of vocal influences to Energy’s music.

Independently releasing their 2006 E.P. Punch The Clock, the band immediately developed a cult following and signed with Boston’s own Bridge 9 Records to release their 2008 full-length album Invasions Of The Mind, as well as their 2010 E.P. Walk Into The Fire.
