British metal/hardcore band BURNER blend bleak death metal and hardcore into their calculated disorder – new single streaming!

1 min read

BURNER are far more than upstarts in the UK underground scene, with shows in Bristol and London’s very own Black Heart under their belt in the tail-end of last year, as well as high praise from Kate Davies of Pupil Slicer and inclusion as one of Metal Hammer’s “12 bands to watch in 2022”. Their debut EP is an exercise in concise, pummeling hardcore blended seamlessly with death metal traits; recorded by Lewis Johns at The Ranch Production House (Svalbard, Conjurer, Employed to Serve), ‘A Vision of the End’ is 6 tracks that display a band with insatiable hunger and an undeniable craft in writing crushing extreme music.

The band’s new single ‘Death Worship‘ is available to stream everywhere now and as expected, it rips! Listen below.

The EP’s first taste ‘Ingsoc’ is a screeching cacophony of riffwork and thundering drums that blast under icey vocal roars, before crashing into ‘Nothing But War.’ ‘Death Worship’ and title track ‘A Vison of the End’ possess the band’s incredible ability to weave death metal, hardcore and fractions of black metal into their calculated disorder.

With most band’s having palpable influences, Burner impresses further by wearing theirs with a sense of real diversity, touching everything from Trap Them, Darkest Hour, Gatecreeper to Converge and Bolt Thrower.

With brighter horizons in 2022 for visceral new bands, we’re lucky to have Burner in the ranks.
