Soon after the release of their debut single “Surf the Cloud”, Dutch garage rockers CLOUDSURFERS are back with their second single, called Sweet Tooth. This song is the second in a series of three singles, leading up to the release of their debut album Don’t Know What Hit Me, which will be released in 2021.
After their debut single Surf the Cloud it is time to floor the gas pedal even more. The band also sounds more versatile. Sweet Tooth is a song with many turns (just like Pulp Fiction) and various influences of modern garage music. On one hand the song is harsher, on the other hand it is catchier. The song is pushed by a firm riff, after which the verses become pretty noisy with heavy screaming from singer Thom Liesting. The chorus however is catchy, á la Together Pangea aka real garage pop. After the tempo has been raised in the bridge with a King Gizzard like riff the song comes to an end repeating the garage pop chorus one last time. This way the band showcases many different influences on this song.
To celebrate the single release, Cloudsurfers will play a gig in Brebl this week. Brebl is an old factory building, fitting in seamlessly with the band’s vibe.
