A match made in stoner heaven, weed authority High Times magazine has teamed up with COLOMBIAN NECKTIE to premiere the Los Angeles band’s new video, “Don’t Fear the Reefer.” As guitarist Ben Daniel puts it, “Colombian Necktie’s music is weed in audio form.” New single “Don’t Fear the Reefer” pays tribute to the green stuff, in the tradition of Black Sabbath’s “Sweet Leaf.” Watch below.

“Though they may have a penchant for cannabis, the after-effects have never dulled Colombian Necktie’s metallic hardcore edge.”
–High Times“A rising name within the Los Angeles underground metal scene… [Colombian Necktie] has further mastered the art of balancing an ugly musical din with engaging Sabbath-boogie riffs.”
-LA Weekly
“Don’t Fear the Reefer” appears on Colombian Necktie’s new album All Paths Lead to Nowhere, out September 30th on Black Voodoo Records.
Founded in LA in 2010, and named after a Big Black song, Colombian Necktie delivers driving, metallic hardcore that spirals off into a deep stoner-boogie trajectory. Colombian Necktie has succeeded in unifying the hard side and the stoned side into one sound, bringing’70s heavy metal grooves and tooth-gnashing punishment together in harmony. In the tradition of other great LA frontmen, like Henry Rollins and Mike Muir, vocalist Scott Werren chooses realness over poetry – as exemplified on “Don’t Fear the Reefer,” the lyrics are so blunt and straightforward, they take on a new kind of profundity. All Paths Lead to Nowhere was recorded and mixed by Erol Ulug (Dangers, Seizures) and mastered by Brad Boatright (Nails, Black Tusk).
COLOMBIAN NECKTIE embarks on a West Coast tour in September with PHOBIA and NOMADS.
