Taking such a fine piece of work as “Dead Poets Society” (1989, written by Tom Schulman, directed by Peter Weir), whose great character made it one of the best movies from the 80s/90s era, and trying to rewrite it into a music video is one hell of a risky move, but “Glamorized”, the newest track and lyric video from Columbus, Ohio based chaotic hardcore band DEATHSONG has surely done it amazingly well. Just like the main character of the movie, John Keating (Robin Williams), an English teacher who encourages his students to be free thinkers, the new track from DEATHSONG expresses its true self and pushes boundaries. Watch the video below, see the lyrics and feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.
“Deathsong” EP, the debut 3-track record by Columbus chaotic hardcore band DEATHSONG is being released on November 4th, 2016 via Delayed Gratification Records on CD and digital. Lyrics:
Were you up in heaven watching me fail?
It’s a loaded thought
Dead poets prayer
I was here on earth still killing myself
It’s a loaded thought
Dead poets prayerI sleep every chance I get just to feel like I’m dead
I sleep every chance I get to keep my weakness at bayWhat ails me is that I ail you
I can’t get away
What ails me is that I ail you
I can’t get awayIt’s a loaded thought
Dead poets prayer
It’s a loaded gun
Dead poets endIt’s a loaded thought
Dead poets prayer
It’s a loaded gun
Dead poets endI sleep every chance I get
Just to feel like I’m dead
I can’t get away
So I’ll watch from a distance and pray
