COMBOS unveil their own fusion of punk energy, rock and a hip-hop fundament with gret new single “Mad Beef”

1 min read

The perfect backdrop for scalding fuckboys and inserting chopsticks to the iris with a spectacular motion. COMBOS are energetic and in-your- face. As the sonic experience can be hard to label, it’s vital to acknowledge the niches that each member provides to the group; prog skating, soccer punk, sneaker bawling, acid graff and black metal leadership. The combination of these musical inspirations and their own fusion of punk energy, rock depth and a hip-hop fundament creates a new and futuristic musical expression.

Mad Beef is about beefing, slurping and getting lost in the soup.

‘Mad Beef’ is COMBOS‘ second single from their upcoming debut album, Steelo, which is out May 8th, both digitally and on vinyl. Jump on it! Grab it via Loyal Blood Records, Platebutikken Big Dipper, and Platebutikken Tiger (Fysisk Format & Diger).

The band, based in the middle of Norway, came out of nowhere at the end of 2018 with their debut single ‘Cookies and Crack‘. A debut EP (Combos EP), two radio hits (‘Sushiramenbruceleewutangclan‘ and the recently released ‘Boom Shakalaka‘ both listed on NRKP3, the Norwegian equivalent of BBC Radio 1) and a bunch of festivals and concerts later, Combos has established themselves as a much believed in, up-and-coming act.

With their energetic and buzzy live performances, catchy songs with heavy riffs and restlessly apathetic lyrics, Combos proves to be a definite one to watch, well- deserved of the hype.

After their recent concerts at by:Larm festival in Oslo, the most essential meeting point for the Nordic music industry, the hard-to-label band received massive support and great reviews in several national publications, such as Disharmoni that stated:

‘Combos’ shows are insanely tight and they appear to be incredibly confident with each other on stage, like a well-oiled machinery of attitude, fat riffs, harddrums and angry vocals. This is one firework of a show, which should have lasted twice as long!’

Combos also got nominated to the festivals own prestigious award “Årets Stjerneskudd” (This year’s Shooting Star) as one of in total 10 Norwegian acts playing by:Larm this year.

In December 2019 they signed with Norwegian underground-label Loyal Blood Records (Blood Command, Barren Womb, Die A Legend, Hot Nuns).

COMBOS are: Axel Møller Olsen (vocas), Thomas Antonsen (guitar), Andreas Kjøl Berg (drums), Jørgen Wassvik (bass), Terje Bjørndahl (guitar).
