DAGGER THREAT drops heavy new single “becoming”

Hamburg’s Dagger Threat will release their new single Becoming on March 28, marking the beginning of the band’s third full-length chapter. The track arrives just ahead of their EU/UK tour with Boundaries and Varials and will be accompanied by a music video.

Becoming follows 2023’s Unchained EP and expands on the band’s hybrid of hardcore and early 2000s nu metal. The sound is steeped in thick mosh riffs, industrial tones, and what the band describes as “Y2K DNA.”

This direction continues a throughline from their earlier releases Gestaltzerfall (2019) and Weltschmerz (2022), the latter shaped by pandemic-era isolation and frustration.

Sebastian Schilling of Rock Hard Magazine notes that Dagger Threat combine raw mosh riffs with sinister industrial synths, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of Slipknot. Their sound is both transparent and crushing, yet remains organic and powerful.

Formed in 2016, Dagger Threat have played nearly 200 shows across 12 countries and previously toured with acts like Comeback Kid, Nasty, and Distant. Their upcoming tour with Boundaries and Varials will serve as the live premiere of Becoming, ahead of their 10th anniversary and full album rollout.
