DEAD ICARUS – ex-Atreyu singer Alex Varkatzas reveals new song “The Vultures Circle”

1 min read

In a riveting new reveal, Dead Icarus, steered by former Atreyu frontman and Gold-selling sensation Alex Varkatzas, has launched the video for their latest track, “The Vultures Circle.”

The new song, described by Varkatzas as “hands down, the heaviest song I’ve ever been involved with,” is a defiant stand against today’s pervasive cancel culture. In Varkatzas’s words, it’s about how, “Savior, Saint, Sinner, or Thief. Live long enough you’ll die one of these.”

The song is less about our inherent beliefs and more about societal perceptions.

Earlier, Dead Icarus made waves with the release of their single “Sellout”, characterized as a pulsating blend of intense metal laced with captivating melodies. This track showcases a dynamic facet of Varkatzas’s musical prowess — one that hits hard and lingers with an unyielding melody.

For fans of melodic metalcore, Atreyu needs no introduction. The band made its mark in the mid-2000s as a mainstay of Ozzfest and stamped its authority in the New Wave of American Heavy Metal movement. Sharing the platform with iconic groups such as Avenged Sevenfold and Lamb Of God, Atreyu, especially through albums like ‘The Curse’ and ‘A Death-Grip on Yesterday,’ became synonymous with Alex’s unique and raw scream.
