Derek Archambault is in the thick of a necessary crowd-funding campaign for a hip replacement that he so desperately needs. After years on the road with DEFEATER and Alcoa, Derek had to take a break due to his limited mobility and pain issues and cancel a number of tour dates and opportunities. He is in need of a complete hip replacement this coming September to get him back on the road. Last month, he launched a PledgeMusic campaign and is currently in the home stretch, but is only at 87% of his $50,000.00 surgery cost.
The PledgeMusic campaign provides great reward with donation; Derek has recorded a new EP (appropriately titled Thank You) that is available for only $5 as a digital download and $25 on CD format. The EP features five tracks, including a new version of Defeater’s “I Don’t Mind”, and acoustic covers of “Shambles” by Make Do and Mend, Blacklisted’s “Stations”, “Young Kerouacs” by I Am the Avalanche, and Elder Brother’s “Who’s Gonna Carry You Home?”.
Today, we’ve premiered a teaser video for the EP that includes never-before-seen footage of Archambault (as well as Defeater) in the studio and on the road, set to a backdrop of clips from theThank You EP.
