Denver vegan straight edge metalcore band MORAL LAW drop “Remnants” ahead of “Solemn Vows to a World Deplored”

2 mins read

“Remnants” starts like a march to war. The intro has that gathering-before-the-fight feel, then the band comes in and the battle has basically started. Moral Law are back in full Denver XVX mode, carrying that metallic weight they have been working with for years and giving it enough momentum to hit hard without dressing the whole thing up.

Good to have them back here.

We’re premiering “Remnants” below ahead of its wider release on Friday, October 9. The track comes from Moral Law’s next LP, “Solemn Vows to a World Deplored”, due this winter through New Age Records.

When we last had Moral Law on IDIOTEQ in September 2021, the band had just signed with New Age Records and were preparing to record their debut full-length. Alex Morales told us at the time:

“We are more than excited to be working with New Age Records, a label that has put out some of our favorite releases and are honored to be amongst such great company. Looking forward to everything to come”

New Age released that debut, “The Looming End”, in 2022. Moral Law followed it with the two-song “Justice / Epoch” in July 2024. Five years after that first signing piece, the label relationship is still going and another full-length is almost here.

The politics have stayed equally direct. Moral Law are vegan straight edge, with animal liberation, earth liberation and drug-free resistance central to the band from the beginning. Their stuff comes out of the 1990s ecotage and edge-metal strain of hardcore, with plenty of 2000s metalcore in there as well. Back in 2022, Alex described “Abolitionist” as their most direct statement on veganism and animal exploitation.

“Remnants” comes with a pretty serious stretch of road time attached.
