Los Angeles’ Desmadre, formed in 2021 and rooted in a blend of local culture and Latin American heritage, has inked a deal with prominent hardcore label Flatspot Records—home to Speed, Zulu, End It, and Jivebomb. The band’s sound is defined by a chaotic, gritty, metallic aggression drawing on influences such as Sepultura, Slipknot, Death Threat, and Terror.
To mark the signing, Desmadre has released the music video for their single “West Coast Story” featuring Alpha & Omega. Directed by Estevan Oriol—known for work with Cypress Hill, Blink 182, Eminem, and the documentary LA Originals—the clip is a high-energy introduction to the band’s uncompromising vision. The video, a product of a collaboration between Oriol’s photography work and his clothing line with Joker Brand, is available for viewing online.
Vocalist Carlos Moreno explains the significance of the signing: “Since I was a kid I dreamt about telling stories from my perspective, now I’ve been given the chance to do it at a global scale. I’ve been given the tools to pass down these stories to my kids and future generations.”
Guitarist Chucky Martinez reflects on the personal impact of the deal: “It’s always been a dream of mine to start a band and get signed to a sick label. Now that dream is fulfilled thanks to Flatspot Records.”
Moreno further elaborates on the video’s importance: “West Coast Story is Desmadre, if you’re from here then you know. If you aren’t from here, you’re about to find out what we’re all about, bienvenidos al desmadre. Having the opportunity to work with a legend like Estevan has been a life changing experience, the same dude whose photography and art shaped the west coast is helping shape the desmadre we are creating. It is such a crazy and humbling experience. Being a part of his portfolio, amongst some of the greatest artist, some of which I grew up listening to and admiring. It’s still mind blowing to me. I am beyond grateful for the experience and the knowledge he has provided us with.”
In tandem with the new release, Desmadre is set to embark on a tour. The band will host a free show and a pop-up event, Desmadre World, at Que Sera in Long Beach, CA on Saturday, February 22nd. They hit the road on February 27th, with the itinerary including dates across Mesa, Albuquerque, Oklahoma City, Little Rock, Memphis, and beyond.
A notable highlight is the two-week run with Comeback Kid starting on March 4th, which spans venues from Nashville and Jacksonville to Seattle and Sacramento. Full tour details are as follows:
